How We Certify Every Used Car – Independent Inspections, HPI Checks & Professional Preparation

At Woodson Cars, every vehicle has to earn its place on our forecourt before it's advertised for sale. Our preparation process is designed to give customers confidence, combining independent inspections, history checks and thorough mechanical preparation.
It Starts Before the Car Reaches the Forecourt
When a vehicle arrives, it doesn't immediately go on sale.
Instead, it enters our preparation process where our team assesses its condition, history and suitability for retail.
Only once we're satisfied does it receive the Woodson Cars stamp of approval.
Independent Vehicle Inspection
One of the key stages is an independent inspection.
Many of our vehicles undergo a UVI Ltd GOLD Inspection, where trained technicians inspect the vehicle using a structured checklist covering major mechanical and safety components.
The inspection includes checks of:
- Engine bay
- Braking system
- Suspension
- Steering
- Electrical systems
- Wheels and tyres
- Transmission
- Road test
- Body condition
- Interior controls
Any issues identified are assessed and, where necessary, rectified before the vehicle is offered for sale.
HPI Checks
Every vehicle is also subjected to comprehensive provenance checks.
These include verifying:
- Outstanding finance
- Insurance write-off history
- Mileage records
- Stolen vehicle databases
- VIN verification
These checks help ensure customers have greater confidence in the vehicle they're purchasing.
Mechanical Preparation
Preparation doesn't stop at inspections.
Our workshop team assesses each vehicle and completes servicing or repairs where required.
